just a fool with a dream - 2dogs - Jun-15-2025 this is my second post on this forum. I'm an old slow learner who really possibly shouldnt bother these spaces. but, I'm simply trying to revive a skill i know is there .... somewhere. I'm on my phone setting this up because apparently "i need humans in my life" and i do not like social or antisocial media. I like privacy, and dislike cheats. lol thanks for your time. RE: New Users Introduce Yourself - dmac6809 - Jun-30-2025 Hello, Obviously I am new here, so a little about me. I am a tinkerer in electronics and computers. I am self taught in BASIC and QBASIC, and in 2000 began a journey into Linux. Mostly Linux has been short periods of experimenting with some new distro and then dropping it. All my computers have Windows and I am stuck with being the "tech support" for my wife, who can't remember how to copy and paste or how to forward mail. All those Linux distros included Python and when I looked at adding a few features to those BASIC programs, I realized that I liked Python much better. In 2010, those first programs were text based with the terminal window and when my grandson asked me if he could use my program on MacOS, I started thinking about cross platform use... then modern GUI and I am now trying to teach myself Tkinter. I hit a snag and need help so looked for a forum and here I am. dmac6809 |
