Replacing list items

Hello, this is what I have so far:

value = 0.1
for k in range(len(self.my_list)):
    self.my_list[k][1] = value * self.my_list[k][1]

my_list is something like this:

[[string, int], [string, int], [string, int]...]

and all I want to do is replace all integers by integers multiplied by value. But when I make it like this, it doesn´t work and it still shows the old integers.

>>> [[row[0], row[1] * 0.1] for row in spam]
[["a", 1.0], ["b", 2.0]]

Could you be more specific? What is the code you use and what is output or error message?
